Im just wondering if they
bite your finger if its close to it.so i can be more cautious about it.
btw the red ear slider turtles are 2 inches
my red ear slider turtle is 4years now, but I remember that day SO CLEARLY;
4 years ago, when my baby red ear slider was just A FEW MONTHS OLD, I got a bit bored, and saw a video on youtube, with this guy feeding a baby turtle with his hand. And I was like, "cool, let me try! "
So I did. When I tried, the pellet suddenly slipped from my hand. So by mistake, the baby turtle bit my finger instead! I assure you, it didn't hurt, especially since it was a baby.
But now that my turtle is 4years old now, I wouldn't stick my finer near its mouth anymore ...
We have 3 of them at various ages, and they all snap at our fingers. The oldest, which is about 11 inches, was wandering around one day in the yard while I was cleaning the tank, and as I picked up the hose she charged me. Lets just say i've never been bit but that's not because they haven't tried. It wouldn 't hurt even if they did though, and they are cool to have and play with, if you pick them up they are more likely to scratch at you with their feet.
Sure, RES will bite your fingers. some will bite more frequently than others but they can all bite.
they will bite but a 2 inch slider can't break the skin. its just a hard pipnch and not bad at all
yes they can bite.
