my african dwarf frog has floating like skin coming off of i

How long has it had this problem? Does it look like normal skin shedding, or has the skin been like this for a while? If it is not normal shedding, it sounds like chytridiomycosis, a fungus that has been killing a lot of the world's amphibians. Check out the following websites listed below.

This fungus has been widespread all over the planet. One of my frogs had somehow contracted this fungus before and if you catch it early, there is a treatment that you can try. Lamisil (the athlete's foot spray) can be used to treat this fungus . The website listed below has the instructions for treating with this medication.

This did work for my frog, but you have to catch it early. They don't make Lamisil in the metered pump anymore, they only have aerosol now, but if you get one of the baby medicine syringes and spray an amount totaling 1ml measured in the syringe, this will work too. Just make sure that you are buying the SPRAY and NOT THE CREAM. The cream contains harmful ingredients that can poison your frog.

After soaking your frog in the Lamisil treatment, you may want to soak him in a bath of 10 parts water to 1 part plain Pedialyte. This will rinse the Lamisil off of the frog and may help to stimulate your frog's appetite by replacing lost electrolytes. It did seem to help my frog.

Also, this fungus affects mainly cool climate areas. Is your frog in a heated tank? If not, I would suggest buying a heater for him. He really needs a temperature around 76 degrees fahrenheit. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I hope this helps you and good luck.
Well, google isnt coming up with anything but If you care about your pet, take him into the local pet store or vet if you'd like.
