I keep hearing that mealworms arent good for them?
It's true, they're not good for young beardies at all. They have a hard exoskeleton made of citin which is very hard for young beardies to digest. The only good time for young bearded dragons to eat mealworms is when the mealworms are looking white because that's when they shed their hard exoskeleton, but even then it's still hard for them to swallow. If you really want to feed them mealworms, wait three months until he becomes a juvenile beardie. But I don't really recommend until he becomes an adult. If too many mealworms are eaten by a young beardie, they could become impacted and maybe even possibly die after that.
Stick to gutloaded crickets for now (no bigger than the width of his head between his eyes). Mealworms have a tough outer shell (chitin) that is difficult for beardies to digest. I have seen impactions from them. When he is over 12 inches long head to tail, you can feed superworms . They look like large mealworms but are NOT mealworms. They have a softer shell and much more "meat", and offer great nutrition. Don't forget to offer him a salad every day!

look its totaly ur deciction but i wouldent do it if i where u I have a bearded dragon named podge and i do not feeed him mealworms becuse i have heard that they have hardly any food value and if you dont cut there heads off and u just feed them to your berdie's and they dont completly chew them properly then the mealworm can eat your bearded dragons stomoch linning and can chew holes in there internal organs. but i do not know if that is true or not but i just dont takee the risk but yer When podge was little i only fed him small crickets and veggies but when he got bigger he eats woodies and large crickets. and friut and veggies.
ps i think u can feed them silk worms or wax worms and i have fed my lizard a simalar worm to one of those and he has had no symptoms from it
this is podge's website if u want to visit it
cheers

dragons are not real
Don't risk it. They cannot digest them at such a young age, so they could get impaction which can be deadly.
Edit: @ Jeffrey: Google Bearded dragons, genius.
