Soo yeah, been like a year or so. He was young when i got him, got him out every now and then and interacted with him a while, idk why just never really continued to that much.

Well it's a royal, he's probably going to be shy and try to get away from you like he would have done when young. If he wasn't bitey then, then he probably won't be much different now. Although surely you should know how he's going to react unless you havn't cleaned his enclosure out in that time. To be honest it sounds like you're not all that interested in him, perhaps it would be a good idea to sell him to someone who would appreciate him more.
