Concerned about my ball python?
My ball python has a strange brown lump on the corner of his mouth. It seems to have gotten bigger over the past few days. Just a minute ago I was giving him water and he striked at nothing. Thanks for the help :) oh and he is shedding for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. He hadn't even finished shedding when he started re-shedding. And he seems to have bark stuck inhis mouth
he definitely has mouth rot. this is because there is bark in his mouth. mouth rot is an infection in the oral cavity. Typically caused by unclean conditions and/or trauma to the mouth. Usually appears as a white cottage cheese like material, or dry scabs in/or around the mouth. Seek the help of a qualified veterinarian asap. mouth rot can be fatal if not handled properly. and im not too sure about the shedding. thats strange i would also ask a vet about that as well, but i don't think that has anything to do with the mouth rot.

usually excessive shedding and/or soaking in water is due to mites, be sure to see a herp vet and not a regular cat/dog vet
