Bearded Dragon Feeding Schedule?

Bearded Dragon Feeding Schedule?
Why are tons of people saying feed a beardie 50-70 crickets, 3 times a day?? WTF??

dood thats like 150-220 crickets...A DAY. isnt that just a bit overkill? i mean especially for a baby??

i dunno i may be wrong but, just seems weird.

and im willing to do this if i have to, not going to starve him. :)

thanks
No, not 50-70 three times a day, but that many EACH day! Baby beardies are cricket hoovers...they eat a huge amount when young because they grow so quickly. The crickets need to be of correct size...no longer than the space between the beardies eyes. So a baby beardie eating over 50 1/4" crickets per day doesn't seem unreasonable. I know, sounds crazy until you see them go at it! Oh, you also want them to have dark greens/salads every day...many babies won't try them until a bit older, but they need to get used to them. As adults they'll eat a lot of salad and less insect. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

CVT and beardie owner -- almost went broke buying her crickets as a baby! :)
yeah KimBee is right, you are supposed to feed them 3 times a day when they are young, and it usually is 20-25 crickets a meal. It adds up, but you can also supplement with phoenix worms, and small silk worms, which are both better for the dragon, and a little easier to feed, but a little more expensive depending on the deal you get.
