Hey guys, Im preparing for my Leopard Gecko and have my eye on some products however could do with some advice.
Firstly, Pet at Home sell this Gecko food that is the complete diet ... is it? I dont really know and I was wondering if any of you guys would recommend it or atleast recommend it being incoorporated into its diet with insects along side. If not this , what is a good alternative that will ensure that he/she gets all the vitamins it needs. I dont want to splash too much:)

Finaly I was wondering if there is any particular way for me to notice a gecko that may be more calm, and more friendly to being handled.
That is apparently a complete diet, but if i were you i just wouldnt bother at all.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Leopard geckos hunt by sight and will usually not recognize something as food unless it moves.
None of the 15 leopard geckos i've had ever ate anything that wasnt alive - in fact, they'd actually spit out dead insects!
Live bugs contain a lot more nutrients than prekilled ones, and you will not have to bother with trying to trick the gecko into eating them.
Seriously, its better just to stick with live feeders; crickets, roaches and/or locusts as the staple, mealworms and waxworms as treats, dusted several times a week with calium/vitamin supplements.
That kit is not very good either ...
Leopard geckos do not need UV lighting so that is wasted, and heatrocks are dangerous; they have a tendancy to malfunction and severely burn reptiles.
Although not included in the kit, i will say that you need to avoid sand and other loose substrates at all costs.
Wild leopard geckos DO NOT live on sand, it is NOT digestible and it can and does kill the poor animals.

Exo terra tanks do look nice, but they are very expensive. For leos all you need is a vivarium, a heat mat, possibly a basking bulb, at least 2 hides (which could be anything like cardboard boxes or plantpots), a water bowl and a calcium bowl (again anything; jar lids, bottle tops etc). Logs, fake plants, rocks and branches make for nice decoration too.
Shopping around, i bet you could get all of this for less than
