Are meal worms bad for bearded dragons?
I have a 7 inch bearded dragon and im afraid to feed him meal worms.Because i have heard the skeleton of meal worms is hard and it can make your dragon constipated and that can kill him or her.And i want to breed them if there not bad for them.

They are not recommended because the shell is too hard for beardies to digest. I have seen impaction problems from mealworms. Stick to small crickets (no larger than the space between his eyes) for now. A baby beardie should be eating 50 -100 a day. They eat much less when they are full grown. When he is at least 12 inches long you can feed superworms ... they are an excellent food source. Just make sure your crickets are gutloaded (always use powdered gutload) and have access to water before using them as food, othewise they are useless. My favorite site:

there is no problem with feeding mealworms but just please dont feed bigger than the size between his eyes or else itll really mess him up and normally when feeding mealworms they tend to take longer to digest so if he doesnt poop on time like he normally would don't stress itll come out but if you wanna be extra safe then give him a bath when he eats mealworms and rub his tummy downwards thats what i did to my leo and he pooped fine and normally and it is more rare to get an impaction with a beardy than a leo because leos are smaller and can only handle a little bit of mealworms and just when hes eating the worms make sure he actually chews the worms instead of just swallong the worm and make sure to have him on tile, paper towel or reptile carpet and if you do that theres really no point of worrying of impaction unless he hasnt pooped in over a week or so.

Well, in short. ABSOLUTELY YES. The can cause impaction, if your going for worms, maybe try superworms.
There are super worms too. But you are fine if you feed them meal worms.
