Help needed quick for bearded dragon?
my teacher is going to let his bearded dragon die because the lights went out and im thinking about asking him if i can have it but i dont know if i should or not i mean im only fourteen and i already have a bearded and 3 other crested geckos one of which could be gravid i think i might be able to scrape by with it but i just dont want to see this happen to and if he doesnt give me everything he has for his bearded dragon then i wont be able to take it seeing as how i dont have a large enough tank because according to him its like 5 yrs old or something and because the lights have been out for a while its eyes are starting to squint and and it gets a little spooked when i walk over to its tank in the classroom. also i think my bearded dragon is getting overweight she is about 13 inches long and her stomach is about three inches wide and 1/2 or 3/4 inches wide is that too big or should i lay off the crickets a little.
also one more thing how old before a bearded dragon is too old to mate? pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Thanks greatly to anyone who answers.

Your teacher is being very irresponsible by letting the UVB light go out in his beardies tank. Pets should NOT be in classrooms unless someone is going to be responsible. I'd report this asap. Does he have a heat bulb as well as a UVB light? Does he get a fresh salad every day? Are his crickets gutloaded (properly fed)? Does she get regular baths/soaks? Has she been checked for parasites? This is why I hate to see animals in schools ... they usually get neglected and die.: (

Only the healthiest animals should be bred. This animal may be very sick if she hasn't been cared for properly.
