Well, some pretty easy pets to raise are
hamsters
rats
mice
rocks
fish
yabbies
and UNICORNS!!

Okay, maybe not unicors because you need to protect then from voldemort...
But with the others it's really easy!!
You need to feed them and clean their living environment. With pets like the mice and hamster, it would be kinder to them to get some toys they could play with while you aren't there.

fish, you only need to do maintenance on the bowls/tanks periodically as opposed to other pets where feeding bathing and changing of bedding etc takes place almost daily...and feeding a fish daily is cake, just sprinkle food and watch it pig out.

You only have to put in like several flakes twice or three times a day
And clean the tank/change filter/change water like once a month.

A bunny.
You can actually play with that so, I'd get a bunny if I were you(:
