My rabbit Cadbury is diligent about peeing in her litter box, but she basically poops where ever she feels like. I sweep up the poop and pour it in her litter box, but it doesn't seem to be helping! She's such a good pet , and weather or not she ever poops in her litter box she has a forever home here, but it's so frustrating!
Any suggestions fellow rabbit owners?
Is she still young? My rabbit did that a lot just until recently I noticed no more poop around my room. He would do the same thing, pee only in his box, but poop everywhere. Maybe she will grow out of it eventually if she is still a baby.
My rabbit did the same for awhile to mark her territory in her favorite resting spots but eventually she pooped less and less in other places and more in or around the litter box when I restricted her playing area. She still poops 1 or 2 drops accidentally when she is excited or relaxing though.
Do you put food in her litter box? Bunnies tend to poop while they eat.
You could get a pen and teach her to poop in the litter box although I doubt you'd be able to fully litter train a rabbit. They will always have little accidents and leave 1 or 2 somewhere else but maybe it's just my bunny. I personally don't mind picking up after her as long as I see her drops I know her tummy is okay.
