Will a friendly social pitbull react on instinct if the family goes out and a intruder trys to break in during the day or night? Thanks
Depends on the dog. Many would far rather lick a stranger to death, some will hide when they feel threatened, and a few may attempt to defend what they perceive to be their territory. Plus an armed burglar would likely just kill a dog that appeared threatening. Dogs don't make good alarm or defense systems. A good alarm system will provide you with far more consistent protection against burglars than a dog not specifically trained in guard work will (and "guard" dogs are NOT family pets and are a huge liability).
If the pitbull is very friendly most likely it wont, but will be cautious of a the intruder following and watching if its a complete stranger. Most of the time a curious Pitbull is big enough deturrent to keep people from breaking in, unless they are gutsy enough to try and play friends with the dog which most people would not be.
I have a 4 year old pit bull and there is no doubt in my mind that if someone tried to break in he would react to it. He is super friendly and love people but when I am home alone with him and someone that he doesn't know comes over he definitely changes his attitude. He is very protective once he is in the house. I think that most of the time if someone were to try to break into a house and heard or seen any dog barking (especially a pit bull since they are "baby eaters, ruthless, and mean") they would be smart enough not to take a chance.
Not if the burgalar has treats and sweet talks the dog. How ever i think dogs know when somethings wrong so maybe if yall was home and seen yalls negative reaction.
It depends how do ur dog react when you have a friend over it has never meet if mean then I say it will atack the burgler I personal think it will not mater what
Gads, I hope so-otherwise I have to. geese are the real attack animals
