UGH! i live in a small town and every says "oh u love animals? be a vet!!" no. i have reason yi dont want to become a vet. so can someone help me out?
Pet-sitter, pet groomer, horse groom (stable person) , dairy technician, cattle rancher, feedlot attendant, kennel attendant, sheep herder, horse trail guide, dog walker, wildlife rehabilitater, horse trainer, horse breeder, dog trainer, zookeeper, animal attendant at a junior museum, animal control officer,.. .
There's a lot of stuff. Zoologist, animal behaviorist, you could conduct research and study them as an animal behaviorist, animal/pet trainer of some kind, you can start an animal shelter, you can volunteer for something if none of these appeal to you. Just look for stuff online, google it. I feel the same way, I've been wanting to do something with animals my whole life, and if you're willing to give up the sweet life, then that's really cool, because not many animal jobs besides positions involved with vets make much money. Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

Hope this helps!
Dog trainer, Fish and Wildlife, groomer, pet walker, zoos, rehabilitation centers, there are tons of options, but some limitations may apply depending on why you do not want to be a vet!
You could do Pet photography, Pet Grooming, Portable Dog Wash, or you could become a pet trainer! Maybe you could also get a job in the zoo. You can tend to heaps of animals there!

Hope this answer helped a little ^ ^
If you are 18 get a job at Petsmart (where I work) or Petco. Customers bring in their animals all the time and 99 percent of the time you get to pet them and play with them.
