I Feed my Bunny Adult Excel Burges rabbit pellets and if she where to be pregnant, should i feed her under 16 weeks instead? (Because she would have baby bunnies in her) And also what would the feeding situation be when they are born and begin to eat pellets. Thanks
A pregnant doe could benefit from the Under 16 Weeks Formula, for her growing litter. When the kits open their eyes and come out of the nest box, they'll begin to nibble on their mom's pellets and hay. So the same food then would be good to feed. If you'd like more breeding info, there's a breeding page on my website.
Rabbits should have unlimited hay, all rabbits pregnant or otherwise. A normal healthy rabbit will eat its volume in hay, a pregnant rabbit will eat more.
Rabbits should be moved slowly from different pellets, otherwise it can upset their stomach, this is not something I would want with a pregnant rabbit. Pellet and water should be feely available.
Green veggies (spring greens savoy cabbage, brocolli) will help with babies development. But babies should be kept away from veggies to begin with.
Both pregnant does (female rabbits) and baby bunnies should have access to unlimited pellets and hay.
