Not offence intended but if she is she obviously cannot be caring for it correctly if she doesnt know what it is ... its obviously not a squirrel.

Honestly, it looks like it could be a Tasmanian Devil or badger. Possibly even a raccoon. Be VERY careful when handling it. Take it to a vet or call Fish and Game in your area. This could be a very sick animal and carry potentially deadly diseases. It is most certainly no average squirrel. Be careful! Hope this little guy is ok and gets through this!
