i know its weird but I've always wanted an exotic pet like an armadillo. I live in Orange County, CA. I was wondering if i could have an armadillo as a pet where i live, where i could get one (websites or something ), and how i would be able to care for it. I hear that they carry a lot of diseases but im not sure if that's true and if it is true, there must be a way around it.
You might like it , but it wouldn't be fair for the armadillo. They aren't very social, and it would get frightened quite easily. If you have a college in your town, they might have one in the vet or animal studies school that you could visit, or ask to help out with. It would also be impossible to house train, so you would have armadillo mess all over your house.
Apparently, it's possible, but not recommended.
