We currently have two female ferrets, both close to a year old. We want to get another (female) ferret, so they are still able to play, even if one is sleeping or eating, and also to just add to the family:) I just want to know how to go about adding a third ferret. When we got our second, we took the current ferret in to pick out it's new friend, and it worked wonderfully! Will it help to do that again? Thanks!
Yes, it's always a good idea to let your fuzzy decide which ferret they want to be their new friend ...
However after purchasing your new ferret, it is important to quarantine her for a few weeks to make sure she isn't carrying any diseases (or go to a vet straight away)
Even if they get along at the pet store (or shelter) it doesn't mean they'll get along when they are in another ferret's 'territory' ... so it's important to watch them ...
Have fun with your ferrets:)
I have never had problems with my ferrets getting along=) they always play and have fun! It would be better if they came and you can see who gets along better, but usually they will all like each other. You could also see about getting a boy now! They are so great, and they also get along very well=)
