i want to breed rabbits for my monitors ive breed them before but only had 1 female can 2 nursing rabbits live together with the babies? will they help each other out like mice?
I've had it go both ways. Sometimes the mothers are fine living together, and sometimes they get defensive of their own nesting area, especially close to the delivery date. Additionally, sometimes you find that if the rabbits aren't very close before they become pregnant, the stress of having another rabbit nearby sometimes causes them to abandon, kill, or neglect caring for their babies. It's a tough call to make without judging the personality of the two rabbits when they're together. I reckon you could pull it off if you got two females who have been raised together. Regards,
Rabbits have fairly large litters so they can all live together until 6-8 weeks ... But do you feed your monitors live food? To be honest, I hate the idea of live feeding ...
Edit; Yes, Mom can live with the babies until they are 6-8 weeks.
