I have a rabbit and a guineapig, they both live in a fence enclosure, but with no roof. It looks like this but bigger and it is made out of chicken wire ..
http://www.google.com.au/imgres? imgurl=h ... Anyway, it stormed today really badly, and my rabbit and guinea pig were out in it, we usually put them in a cage thing at night or when it rains, but I thought on of my brothers or mum would have put them in it and they thought the same, turns out none of us put them in the cage so they were left out in the storm for about an hour and a half, I went out there and they were drenched, I put them in the dry cage which is inside now, will they be ok do you think? Oh and the weather wasn't cold though, I live in Adelaide Australia and it is meant to be really hot but for some wierd reason it stormed today, but was still warm.
Only time will tell. Keep a close eye on them as they dry off and if you suspect any problems, straight to the vet! It will have been extremely stressful for them.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com In future never leave them without any cover! They should also have somewhere to dive to should they spot any predators near by or feel threatened. Ideally have a run permanently attached to their hutches (as I hope they're not kept together, a rabbit can kill a guinea pig!).
i live in england and is always freezing and my rabbits stay out in them all the time we just give them extra hey and put a blanket over the cage and they are fine but i would put them near the heater or some thing. keep them worm and make sure they drink plenty
Usually they are for letting them play but i would use it to keep them in. They might get scared and try to escape. At night, storm or rain put them in their hutch. My rabbits like to sit out in the rain they like it because it cools them down im not really sure why they like the rain, but the best thing to do is keep them warm. they might get a cold if not but its not a super bad thing.
GRRRR !!!!! What are you guys thinking, when you have animals ... NO COVER ??????? At least you made the effort to deal with it AFTER the fact !!!!
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com These animals need to be in a proper home that can withstand all kinds of weather ... Either do it properly or find a new home for these animals, who are dependent on humans
Make sure they have DRY.coverings with lots of ventilation .......
Sorry ... may sound very upset .... Just absolutely hate when animals are neglected and abused because of ignorance. By humans, who should know better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
