Hi, I love horses and I always have. However I really need to study up on them if I want to convince my parents to let me have one of my own. I don't know a lot, only a few basics. Can you guys help?!
Man, tough crowd!;) If you are really serious about horses and you want to learn as much as you can in order to have a horse of your own, I would recommend volunteering at a horse rescue or a stable.You can volunteer your time, learn about different breeds, health problems, maintenance, grooming, feeding and much more and talk to people that have been around horses their entire life. Books are also great. Maybe ask your parents for a book about horse for starters and learn all you can! But if you really want to find out if a horse if for you and you want your parents to take you seriously, volunteer!

Asking here is silly. Go to your library and rent some books. I think convincing your parents for a horse will also require greater maturity then posting a board on yahoo.
You should get lessons first if you haven't put much thought into this. A horse is a lot of work and a lot of money.
