How to convince my mom to get me a rabbit for Christmas? (Se

I've wanted one since 5th grade. I'm 13. I've been heavily researching since May and know TONS about rabbits. I know what they eat, what vet it would go to, what kind of cage to use (a HUGE cage with lots of playtime), history of rabbits, how to hold a rabbit, where I can get a rabbit from a shelter, etc. I even cleaned my entire room out so I have space for a huge cage. I think my mom wants one for me except she's a bit worried since we have territorial cats. However, I would let the rabbit play outdoors, in my room, and in my basement SUPERVISED. She said I could get one but not right now, so I'm thinking I want one for Christmas. What can I do to make her more comfortable with the idea of getting me a rabbit?

PS: I want to ask her to take me to our local rabbit shelter, but how do I bring it up?

PPS: I'm still researching any rabbit questions I have and am reading all these great websites.I am also planning on living at home for college & i can pay for it cause ive been saving up.shed pay almost nothing
You could mention that you know a bunch about rabbits. Give her some facts that most people don't know to show her how much you really do know. Tell her what you would do to make sure that it was safe at all times. You can even make a list of this stuff. anticipate any questions she might have and try to answer them before she has a chance to ask them. show her where you would keep it, etc. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

You could say, "Hey mom, you know how I've wanted a bunny since 5th grade? Well I've been researching what they eat and what they need and I feel that I am better prepared for taking care of one. Do you think that I could get a rabbit, soon? "

Even if she says no, say thank you anyway. You never know, your attitude could change her mind.;)

Good Luck. I hoped this helped!

btw, I LOVE your name!:)
Nagging her is one of the worst ways to convince your parents to get you something. Try and build up the fact you can be trusted with something as delicate as a pet. Try to convince her that a pet is a benefit. Don't try and force your mom to just give in by constantly asking her, try and drop hints in by mentioning pets as casual as you can whenever possible in conversations.
ur 13 and a rabbit is a good way to learn responsibility ... u have to convince her you are old enough and mature enough to take care of another living being ... help her take care ofthe cats a bit: D pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

maybe you can give little hits about rabbits for christmas ....

tell her you would like to go to the shelter soon and look around. shes ur mom and u can feel comfortable asking her stuff!: D
get a poster board and do a presentation after dinner, take all the cute pictures and info you found online doing research, and paste it to the poster board. what parent could resist that. good luck
Rabbits are better off in the wild.

Cages are cruel and unusual.

How would you like to live out your life in a cage?
Give her drugs and then she might let you have one!

good luck
i have 2 rabbits, and they are great pets. All i had to do was tell my dad that they could live outside with a safe habitat. I think it would be a great idea to get one for christmas! Just show your mom how much you know about rabbits and that you are serious about owning and caring for one. Say you will help pay for it and how much it means to you. Just remember, though, that rabbit cages smell very badly when not cleaned every day and completely cleaned every week, which is why most parents won't let their kids have rabbits inside. From experience i know that even though they are alot of work, rabbits are great pets and i really hope you are surprised with one on christmas!:)
