I just got two new chinchillas(today), both males, one 8 weeks and one 6 weeks. They are already best of buddys, but when i left the room Jett (the 8 week old) started squeaking! i walked back in a lifted up his cloth hanging cube, and he stoped and started playing with Anubis! he has done it 2 times so far, but when i turn on the light/ lift up the thing hes under, he gets un scared and starts playing with me or Anubis....

I know they talk alot, but can they be afraid of the dark? and i mean, hes afraid until i make it light! and if hes not afraid of the dark, what is he doing?

Here are some extra details...

I just got them today, and they are already bonded to me, eachother, and love running around my room playing.
There cage is 30 cubic feet (3ft by 2ft by 5ft) and they have 4 shelves, two hanging cubes that dubble as hammocks, a wooden den with a bed, a tent, and a hammock, they love everything in there, but have some problems getting to the top.
They have hay and food and water and all that, they are clam and not scared at all, even in the car they had a blast (Jett)
Yes, Anubis is a little young, i do know that, but the breeder said he was fine, and hes eating and drinking all on his own.
Anubis beleves he is dominance lol, constantly bugging him and proving dominance (humping male on male) and runs away when Jett turns around lol


Oh also, i know that they talk a lot, but im not sure why hes squeaking and scared whenever its dark without me or Anubis around....

hmmm maybe its just lonelly in the dark :/
