I have three in door kittys does anyone know of a better way?
To keep there litter boxs (2) from not smelling?
My dad says im gonna have to git rid of two if i cant keep them from smelling. I buy all there litter, food, shampoo everything they need. This is the ony problem he has with them. They have been spayed. I scoop every day, dump them evey other day, i use baking soda to. I have to buy the cheep litter (special kitty) so i can buy them purina and other good brands of cat food. maybe someone out there has made a discovery and will share it with me. Thanks

You will have to buy a better litter. Cheap ones just don't do the trick. Tidy Cat Clumping is the the cheapest of the best. Buy the big container. Scoop daily, and it's only necessary to dump it once a month. You don't need the other litter box. Just make sure the one you have is a good sized box. I still add the baking soda to the litter, it helps keep it fresh. When you dump it, make sure to clean it really well. Vinegar is the best cleaner. It disinfects and kills all the odors. And it's safe and cheap. Good Luck.

Tidy Cat Clumping for Multiple Cats at Petsmart 35lbs = Petsmart approx $12
I have found that the cheapest litter is the problem. I am not saying to buy the most expensive, but buy one grade up that includes more filters and anti-smelling chemicals. Also, if you had a little new to it everyday and mix it around really well it tends to last longer and smell better. What I do is add 1 cup a day new to it. I usually take out that much when I'm cleaning it so it doesn't end up costing anything more, and it usually always smells fresh.
Purina is not a very good food. I would try switching them onto a meat-based high quality cat food, preferably grain-free. I have no problems with litter box odor now, though I did when he initially came home and was eating Science Diet ( I could smell it from another room every time her "went"). A grain-free kibble will reduce stool volume and odor, as it's more highly digestible than a grain-containing kibble. I feed Orijen dry food and grain-free Wellness canned, and my cat only poops about every day and a half now (vs 3-4 times daily on the Science Diet).
use the same litter but buy special litter crystals what you put in thwe litter tray and when the cat pees on it it releases a nice smell. maybe you should also go to a whiskers or felix food where it is not expensive and you can spend more money on litter, or depending on where you live let them go outside!
Hate to tell you this but if you want the litter to smell less you're going to have to buy more expensive litter. Tidy Cats works pretty well for me. I have four cats and the boxes hardly smell unless they really need to be cleaned.
catboxes will always smell. there is no product to prevent them from smelling.

You could potty train them if you were really up to the task. google toilet training cats
you have to change all of the litter once a week and change the box or clean it out with soapy water animals are smelly
