Do kids cry when any kind of pet dies?
My neighbor (9 year old girl) was crying last week when her pet bird died, and another 8-year old boy cried when his pet turtle died. I though kids only cried when mammalian pets die (cats, dogs). Birds and turtles are not mammals.
answer:
it depends how attached they are. I cried when my goldfish died and i only had it an hour. The more the kids play with the pet the more they will cry because they are that much more attached to it. Mammals are easier to play with so they will most likely be more upset. If you keep getting fish or animals that dont live long kids will eventually get used to the dying and perhaps not cry as much. But something like a dog, rabbit, cat, guinea pig, will always hurt because they live long and can be our best friends sometimes
If a kid is close to anything then they will probably cry when they lose it. Especially pets kids can get very close to pets and so if any type of pet dies they will cry. Kids are emotional. I would cry if my pet died and i'm not a little kid i just love animals :)

Do only mammal pets deserve love and affection?
People cannot become attached to animals just because they arent mammals?
What makes you think that children should only cry when mammal pets die??
I cried when my guppies died. I remember when one of my guppies had babies and I watched as one of the other fish came up and gobbled it up.
Its the same principle, regardless of the type of animal its the feeling of loss.
if they loved that peticular animal then yes it is very possible.
