i soooo wood and if there was a place that wood fix them for free and hold on to till they are healed .... or foster family's because it is sad that it cost about 200 if not more ... people think it ok to let they cats run around with nuts or un fixed .. then there are more kitty ... it sad the spca only want people cats i think if they are not friendly fix them and find some one that needs a barn cat
Well , here's the problem. If you feed stray cats, and they're not fixed, you'll end up generating a massive sudden stray cat population. It attracts cats to the area, and leads to creating a large problem. It's a nice idea to try and look after stray animals, but if you don't do a complete or proper job, you might end up just making things worse.
It's true that the RSPCA can't look after all the animals that we wish it could, but if we're going to put some effort forward regarding animal care, we should make sure we're doing something constructive. If we were all serious about caring for all animals, there wouldn 'be funding crisis' and the RSPCA would look after all the animals in need. The trouble is that a small portion of the population creates the majority of the problems regarding stray cats.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Your efforts are best spent in encouraging a change in behavior for all cat owners, either through shops or cat forums, or in fundraising for the RSPCA to help fund care for stray cats. If you just keep feeding strays, it's only supporting a system that leads to a greater problem.
There's a unique spot just outside Canadian parliament that's been claimed by stray cats, and due to the support of a dedicated group of people, they've all been collected, vaccinated, housed, and fixed and then RELEASED back to that area to continue living . There's no reason that your own effort could accomplish this in your local area, it's just a matter of putting the time and campaign together. It'll make a world of difference that just feeding stray cats won't.
PS I'll be honest, I didn't find a focus to your question, but I hope this inspires you, or at least gives you an idea where to direct your charitable care for animals. Best of luck.
Where I live there's a humane society who takes as many volunteers as they can get to do various tasks. They have pet foster parents who take in healing animals until they are well enough to get adopted out. They also TRAIN volunteers to catch stray cats, take them to a vet and have them spayed and neutered and then release them again into the wild. Check online if you don't know of any local organizations for animals. If you do know of any though, give them a call and ask how you can volunteer.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com There are many programs out there to protect the strays, you just have to look. And if these options aren't available where you live, purpose these idea's to local politics or organizations.
The problem with feeding any animal (or bird for that matter) that is a stray is once started, you have to keep it up. They will come to rely on you as a food source. Feeding strays is only a small part of the problem. Strays need to be rescued, cleared off the streets more than anything else. And they need to be neutered, to help stop this continuing.
I would put food out. Its sad yes but honestly they have a better chance of living on their own maybe with your help on the food issue. Most shelters don't make it their top priority to find these poor animals a home and just euthanize them. Yes you should always spay and neuter your animals and I'm glad there are good people still out there like you. Good Luck!
no unless u want them to keep on coming back
