Is there proof that animals have emotions?

This is the way I look at it:

Humans are primates. Primates are mammals. We have emotions. Therefore, I assume other primates and/or mammals do too. We are not that special.

I also think other animals like reptiles have some form of primitive emotions like fear, happiness, anger, etc.
Im not sure if they have proof.

But you can tell they have emotions. OTHERWISE when you scold a dog they get sad and put their tail behind their legs and when you praise they wag their tails. All animals have emotions I think. When they whine about something they cry meaning they miss something or need to go poddy thats all emotion.
i think anyone who has ever been around animals of any kind can say for certain that animals do have emotions.
Yes, for documented fact read up on elephants-[and no, I won't do your homework!].
when i had two cats and one died the other got depressed for a couple of weeks. I think he missed her
I would think so bc our bulldog Lola pouts when she don't get her way
Do you honestly need scientific proof?
