peeing cats and molting hermit crabs ?!?!?

okay so i asked a question about 1 week ago, i guess. my crab is still molting. Victoria, hermit crab, is. my sisters dumb cat pooped in the cage 2 days ago. i cleaned it out, but i left the sand, it smelled bad. but i knew i shouldn't mess with it. but now i have a bigger problem; once i put the lid on (again), she knocked it over (again) and peed in it. now i cant walk n my room without smelling it. i dont know what i should do. should i clean it out and mess with Victoria? or should i leave it?
I've never had a situation like this, but I'm worried about the urine being in such a small and closed environment.

I would do an emergency deep clean, replace the substrate, and wipe down the tank itself with a 80% -20% mixture of water and vinegar (rinse it out after). Isolate Victoria and give treat her the same you would a surface molter .

To prevent more intrusions, you can secure your tank following the instructions in this link ( http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/v ... It works beautifully for on my tank. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Give your sister's cat a firm NO or spray her when she comes too close to the tank for comfort in the future.
I would definately clean it out and put new sand in the container and also put the crab where your cat can ' t get to it. On a shelf is a good idea.

Cats normally pee in sand outside. People with sand boxes always have to cover them up because of stray cats peeing and pooping in the sand.

Below is a link about hermit crabs to help your sister.
Simple, put the cat outside where cats belong!
