my bunny is grunting?

when i go over to watch my bunny, he will come over with a sort of "grunting" noise, it almost sounds like mm mm mm, he will then let me pet him and relax, is it because he doesnt know who i am at the moment, or because hes just exciteted to play ... please only answer if u know what your talking about (:
rabbits can make a range of noises. to welcome you/request attention a rabbit will grunt and jump from side to side. scared and warning sounds are more like a squeel and they will sprint to a corner and freeze while making the noise. to dominaete or warn of danger they stamp feet.

you should get a feeling of how your rabbit feels as its also body language not just sounds.
The truth is, the rabbit wants you attention. My indoor rabbit (a holland lop) does this all the time. She will run up to the door grunting. It is funny isn't it?
