Newborn Rabbits and Vets?

Do you bring newborn rabbits to the vet?

and if you do what does the vet do?
You can for a check up so the vet will make sure your bunnies are healthy and happy. But if you think there is nothing wrong with them there probably is no need. If you did decide to the vet will check your baby bunnies for any signs of illness. You probably won't need to take them to the vet unless you decided to get them neutered or spayed when they are 5 months old and also for their vaccinations against diseases .
no. newborns should stay with the mother in thier nest. a vet cant and wont do anything for newborns. at this time of year chill deaths are very common so dont panic if some or all die, thats what you have to deal with when breeding. if you would like to keep them warm keep the cage in the house, or a shed.

read up on breeding rabbits.

keep the nest in the cage until about 2 weeks old when the rabbits will have grown thier hair and opened thier eyes. between 2-3 weeks old they will start eating mummys poo as well as feeding from her. after 3 weeks they will begin eating the rabbit food.

when to take them to the vet

- Overly swollen stomachs (caused by eatting too many pellets), buy some papaya fruit and pineapple juice mix and mash together this is good for thier digestive system.

- Dehydration (pinch hair and pull up, if it tents they are dehydration, if it springs back down they arent) very dangerous.

at 8 weeks old you can wean they from thier mother.
Normally you do not need to take newborn rabbits to the vets. If the baby seems week and thin, you can try to get a vet to do a house call to see it. Most newborn bunnies do not do well traveling:)

So no, your bunnies do not need to see the vet. There are no vaccinations that can be given to a newborn bunny.

Hope this helps!
You don't need to take them unless out is hurt oe some thing i had a litter of 4 and one brook is foot and got a cut on its neck i took it to a large animal vet office to see if they could do any thing but the could not so we Had it put to sleep. but other then that leave them in with the mom until they are older like 3 or 4 week but keep cheeking to dead babies
No, I don't think they need to go. Just care for them yourself.

Be sure not to let the adult rabbits eat them, though! Unfortunately that happens pretty frequently.
