Does anyone own both a ferret and a chinchilla?

I was wondering, and do you ever have to watch out if the ferret gets into the chinchilla cage? Any advice, I would like to get a ferret and have a chinchilla, in it's own cage, and a ferret, in it's own cage, together in the same room. Please don't answer the obvious - chinchillas are rodents and ferrets are carnivors, I'm aware of that. I'm just trying to get a heads up to ferret proof my room.

My main concern is the bar spacing of my chinchilla's cage, it is 1in. If i were to have a ferret out, would it be able to get into my chinchillas cage ????
Ferrets cannot get through 1 inch bar spacing . My ferrets cage has 1 inch spacing and they have never escaped and I have a couple of small females. You will want to put the chinchillas cage up high so when the ferrets gets floor time he cannot bother the chinchilla. It would be best if you got 2 ferrets or 2 chinchillas. They like to be in pairs.
the lady that i got 2 of my chins from also has ferrets. and she has the ferrets out all the time. the ferret will not be able to get into the chin cage. and i know you said you know this but i have to say it anyway. dont let them out together. the ferret will attack the chin. u got the right idea though. ferrets and chins are two of the cutest and coolest pets i have ever known. if i didnt just move back home i would own a ferret. my ex did not want to get one cuz she was afraid it would stink up the apartment.
