Do they bother anyone else? Issues with storage, use, etc.?
I've actually found that most small animal bedding packages are well made in North America. The main problem is that once you open them, they don't seal well, and don't have a good way to prevent spillage.
The worst ones are solid pressed wood shavings into a rectangular shape that literally burst when you puncture the pack, but I've only seen them in Australia. Storing them all has been pretty easy as far as I'm concerned. I ended up getting frustrated with my really large packages of wood shavings or carefresh, and bought two large rubbermaid (knock off) tubs and poured it all in there. That makes a world of difference in ease of use, storage, and cutting down on the amount of mess and dust that pours out from the plastic wrap. Hopefully this solution works for you too! Regards,
