What would be the best pet for me
I live on a ranch
I dont care about fur every where
I like gentle animals
and I have a big house with no other pets
Dog!! Or cat. Or both. Minature donkeys are cool if you have the resources and knowledge to take care of them. (They are herd animals so you always have to have at least two.)
Anything you want really - depends on your patience with animals.
Rabbits - Easy to get along with but very demanding
Guinea Pigs - Cute and small but very frightened of sudden movements or anything bigger than them
Ferrets - Great once you have hand tamed them and taught them all their manors - They can be very stubborn meaning its hard to teach them things and owners get tired of trying and hand them away
Dogs - Loyal, kind, cute, strong - the only downfall is that if you don't put the time in with them is that you get nothing back
Cats - Nice and kind - They think they own the house and you're just the one who feeds them
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Exotics - Very fussy with climate control and can sometimes grow bigger than you expect, others are fussy with their foods and hard to master
Chickens - You can own a large group. No training needed - they give you eggs and you can pick them up and stroke them with no real fuss. (I suggest hens and no males)
Gerbils and other small rodents - Cute, rather easy to care for but because of their size they do tend to bite
That's all I can really think of at the moment - I hope this has been of some use to you.
All I can say is research them before you get them so you know what to expect.

if you like gentle animals guinea pigs are very nice, also you can have more than one because they like to be together . and since you live on a ranch you could build them a hutch and they could graze (this makes them very happy). as of fur, they do shed a little bit but only if you pet them constantly like if their walking around they wont just drop random hairs everywhere, lol.
a dog, the best dog for you will be a Labrador, i have two of them and they are great dogs, they listen you can take them hunting cause its in theyre blood, they are very gentle if you have kids, and they know not to run away and they will be perfect for a ranch
