Well if you're really convinced that you want to actually make a hamster ball here's what you do.
Get two cheap plastic bowls, made of plastic that's clear, or clear yet colored. Make sure the edges are smooth. On one side, attach a hinge so that the two bowls are connected, facing one another into something like a ball. On the other side, put a basic lock or just a strip of velcro that will hold the bowls together. Make sure you drill some air holes in spots along the new ball, and you're off and running, or should I say, your hamster is ! Cheers,
PS A fun game I used to play with small animals was to put them on a smooth surface, and slide little treats towards them from far away. If you put them in front of a net, they will sometimes try and grab the treats as they slide, and it's like you're playing soccer!
