Go to the "Locate a Breeder" tab at http://www.hlrsc.com/ and click o Michigan. This is the Holland Lop Rabbit Specialty Club site
http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?anim ... Or check http://www.arba.net/ to find a rabbit show near you and attend to meet some breeders. Don't buy from a pet store. The rabbits sold in pet stores are often too young to be away from their mothers (because they're cuter , and sell faster-they also often die or become quite ill). They're from breeders who don't care about the animals they produce (if they did, they'd want to make sure they all went to good homes), so they're usually from low-quality stock and often have veterinary or behavioral issues.
www.petfinder.com is a great place to go. Before you bring a rabbit into your home, please make sure that you are prepared for it! Rabbits can be wonderful house pets, but they do have some special needs. Please do your research first! www.rabbit.org is a great place with everything you could possibly want to know about having a house rabbit. I don't know how old you are, but http://www.makeminechocolate.org/learnin ... is also a great site, although I think it is geared a little more towards younger people.
I found this ad in the farm + garden section of craigslist. (New Boston)> http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/grd/20 ...

They're in the show circut so it may be worth a shot to email them to see if they know of any more local breeders near you.
Do not buy from a pet store, the rabbits there are really unhealthy and are not socialised properly. You will end up with a really antisocial rabbit.

You might want to check out a local shelter, lops are a dime a dozen there. I did a quick search for breeders in your area, and there are indeed breeders, but none of them seemed very good to me. For one most of them were more concerned about getting deposits for the rabbits instead of what they looked for in a good owner, and they were all willing to ship their buns. I would never buy from someone who is willing to ship their rabbits. Unfortunately, it is really, really hard to find quality rabbit breeders. Most breed too often, keep too many rabbits, and are more concerned about the show ring than they are of raising good pets. I bought my first two rabbits from a breeder, and since then have always gone to the shelter to get a rabbit. You'd be surprised at how friendly they are-I don't see any difference in personality and friendliness from my rabbits I've gotten from a breeder and shelter buns.

Here is a link to the site I found with a breeders list. There are at least ten who are in Michigan, but again be very careful of who you buy from. If they breed more than two different breeds of rabbits and own more than ten breeding rabbits, I would not buy from them. Good luck, and seriously, consider adoption!

Michigan is an awesome state to live in if you are looking for rabbits. I am a rabbit breeder from PA, and we usually have to travel out of state to get our rabbits. Ohio and California have the most breeders, but Michigan is pretty high up there!

I use two major classified ad websites when I search for rabbits. They give listings all over US and Canada, but can be narrowed down to specific states as well. There are listings for pure bred and pet alike, or you can post an ad yourself stating what you are looking for. I find buyers sometimes using their want ads. Listings also usually change daily depending on what time of the year it is (ie more listings at Easter time). Good Luck!
