Which pet is better to keep?

Chihuahua or a poodle? Nd should it be a male or a female?
Both can make wonderful pets. It is all about the training you give them. And i would not recommend a westie, they have limitied off leash recall! As to chihuahua's getting grumpy when they are older that depends on the quality of life you provide, and as with any dog upon purchasing you should be given a health score of both parents aswell as the puppies.
Chihuahuas can have lots of expensive health issues due to their size, they can also be grumpy and snappy particularly if they suffer from arthritis which is very common due to the size of their joints.

Poodles are nicer dogs particularly standard or giant poodles although toy poodles (the small ones) can be nice (I'd get a female if going for a toy poodle) if you want a pretty little sweet dog have you looked at westies or bichon frise breeds??? Bichon frise in particular are just lovely:)

good luck anyway:)
I have a boy long haired chihuahua from a week and I love him to bits!! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

he's nearly 3 months old so I can't bring him out yet until he's had his last vaccine but for now he already knows to do his "things" on the newspaper

he's very quiet and loves to play but gets tired after a while so he just sleeps on me while I do other things

he's extremely friendly towards strangers (I've had many people walk into my house saying bad things about chihuahuas and change their opinion in 30 seconds after seeing him), he wags his tail like mad and does everything possible to be loved by people

I don't know how he'll react towards other dogs and I hope he'll be friendly

the good thing about him being a long haired chihuahua is that long haired chihuahua's (i met his dad) don't shed a lot and their fur is lovely to stroke:)

As for the male/female decision, I've heard that females can be moody at times
I have owned both breeds .. and I loved them both.

My poodle was really smart .. and loyal. He lived out a good 16 year life and was honestly a great dog. The only downside to having a poodle was grooming him!! He got poo stuck to his butt hair that we had to clip off every so often .. really gross hahahaha but we loved him so we did it. Also, his eyes would water and we would have to wipe away the stains. He was great with every type of dog we had (ranging from rottweilers, ( toy) chihuahuas, husky). He really loved my mom and that was his owner .. he would of died for her. Very loyal. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

My chihuahua was my baby. He was a vacuum though .. he LOVED to eat. He never knew when to stop and it caused him to be slightly overweight (we called it buff tho). He was greeat to cuddle with and had a very goofy personality which really made me happy when I was sad. He was also smart .. not the learning trick kind of smart, but the kind of smart that knew me and my mood. He could always tell when I was sad and he came over and just stayed with me and listened and licked away my tears. He was my bestfriend. But his vacuum problem ended up in the worst way ... he got something lodged in his intestines and passed away a week ago.=[But honestly he was a great dog too. Only thing .. he hated children. And he barked a lot but most chihuahuas do and you need to accept that or don't get one lol. And he shedded these tiny hairs that you never got off your clothes but I loved him regardless. He got eye stains too and no matter what we did there was no getting rid of them.
