I do not have a strong connection with the animal. It is a Green Iguana, which recently died.
I had thoughts about its death, but it was too soon.
I do feel guilt, but what can one say when other citizens of countries hunt them for food?
Would it be respectable to lay the animal in a forest?
Or should one bury an animal in their backyard; which, I have heard is illegal in many cities.
There is a Sanitation Department, but the body of this animal is very small.
Well if you love it very much, put it into a pretty box where it can fit in and write a note like, "Miss you so much , RIP (the date it died), and then bury it in your backyard or something. So you'll knw that it will always be 'around' you.:)
I would say you should just put it in a tiny box and bury it in the woods. First off not in your backyard because knowing its there, you might feel even more guilty. But dont just throw it in the trash or anything, thats kinda wrong. And make sure to completly cover the box with leaves and twigs and stuff, less someone come and pick it up finding a dead thing inside.
Sorry that it died. What was the circumstances? I take it you never had it for a long time as you didn't have a connection with it. The reason I ask is if it was preventable then you may be able to educate others. I think it would be nice to lay it in a forest and let nature take its course.
Call your cities Animal Control. In most cases, something that small can be buried in the back yard.It needs to be a minimum of 3 'underground so as to not let the odor escape.
You can bury it in the back yard. I don't recommend doing this if you have dogs. It won't hurt anything as animals die all the time and such.
I would bury it in the ground in the forest by a great oak or red wood in my view. please do something well ..
Under the floorboards?
use it as fertilizer for the plants
