What is my rose hair tarantula doing?

It has been "cleaning out" the substrate that was in her log. We have had her for about a week. She has been eating normally and everything. She goes in her log when she eats. Could she be cleaning out the " leftovers "if there are any. She has just rolled the substrate up into a big ball at the end of her tunnel. Should I take it out?
Are you removing any prey remains that she leaves behind when she finishes eating? As long as you are taking those out, you can leave her substrate ball alone - as it's probably just substrate she didn't want in there. Tarantulas are known to "redecorate" on occasion).

If you haven't found any remains (usually formed into small balls once they are finished with whatever they ate), then she may be putting those into the ball she formed and it would need to be removed. Prey remains can attract mites and/or flies and you don't want those in your tarantula's enclosure.
