If you are severely allergic to both cats and dogs, can you

Its very likely that you will be. Sorry.

There are some animals that are supposed to be "hypoallergenic" but in my personally experience, if your allergies are bad enough, you will get a reaction from those too. I'm allergic to anything with fur or feathers ... Except for cats, I can suffer though the fur and feathers with some medication because I just love animals so much, I couldn't imagine not having one.

Reptiles, amphibians, and fish might be your only option if your allergies are really severe.

If you do try another pet, I would find a good groomer and make regular visits, that has helped me a lot with my dog.
Yes. You are most likely allergic to the dander that comes from the skin and not the fur . Only way to be absolutly sure what is making you sick is to have allergy testing.
you know they have dogs that are made for people that have allergies heres a website for dogs that are fine for allergies

yeah probably .. but you have to try. theres some animals that you usually wont get a reaction to .. usually without fur or not even mammals ... but some mammals usually the exotic ones are the ones you wont be allergic to ..
well if you are allergic to both dogs and cats, then you should be allergic to the pet dander that is contained within their skin or fur. so most likely, yes.
Most people allergic to cats are also allergic to ferrets and rabbits. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

If it's all mammals, usually birds are excluded.
Yes, most people who are allergic are allergic to either the dander or shedded hair, regardless of what type of animal it comes from.
You would have to get tested. Why not try one of those hypoallergenic pets if you really want a pet? Or get a lizard or a snake? A bird?
