I have a wood chew block made of small logs fitted together, and I have tried individual apple stick but they still WILL NOT CHEW. I have not, however, used these until they were much older. Best answer to the person who will give me a detailed response and answer my second question. Can guinea pigs eat commercial seed treats?
Not all guinea pigs like chewing wood. They don't need these things if they have a proper diet, so don't worry about it.
Seeds are not good for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are herbivores and seed or nuts can make they fat. You can give small bits of fruit as a treat or make your own treats using ground pellets, hay, oats and some fruit or veggies puree. Mix it together, roll out and bake at 350F for about 20 min per side.
Yes guinea pigs can eat commercial seed treats. they might not need to chew, It depends on how long they have had the wood, are they chewing on other things? all they need to do is ground their teeth down. try getting different wood blocks, or try putting seed inside the blocks, but don't worry they should be okay.
Well, I have bunnies for years and that happened to me. You have to give them time. They chew on it when they are babies. If they won't you have to give them time to chew on it cause its hard for them. In a while it will show marks on it of chews.
Sometimes wood isn't a guinea pigs thing so if not try something else maybe a block of salt or something else that a guinea pig might want to chew!
