My guinea pig just gave birth to two babies and one is fine and running around the other cant stand up on its own and its breathing is strange, it has quick short breaths. I tried rubbing him/her but it didnt seem to help so i put him back with his mother. Hes still just laying on his side moving his legs a bit to try and get up. Is there anything else to do to help him i think he might die: (
There is no way to sugar coat this. Sadly, he is probably going to die given your description of the condition he is in. Sometimes you get a live born pup that has some sort of underlying birth defect and they are just not thrifty enough to make it. Because they have no build up uf resources, it is often too quick to get them to a vet who might, but probably won't, be able to do anything about it. If it is any consolation at all, it was nothing that you did during the mom's pregnancy. Sometimes s &*&^*) simply happens
i think you need to take him to the vets sometimes newborns have problems so ask your vet if he needs medication then im sure he wil be ok x:)
