My rabbit Poppy is inside but there are firework displases near by and I am worried as I have heared of rabbits having heart attacks and things.
Any tips on how to make it less stressful for her would be appriciated:)
Thanks Emmy
Keep the windows in the room she's in closed to minimize noise and make sure she has somewhere to hide if she gets nervous. She should be fine. If you notice her seeming distressed, move her to an interior room with no windows and close the door, which should minimize the noise further.
Cardboard box with lots of shredded paper inside the cage and open so they can go in and out of it as they wish! Do not box a rabbit as this can cause more stress. Still provide food and water as normal.
Also you can cover the cage with a large thick blanket (ensure air can still circulate)
Close windows and curtains and make the room dark. Either that or put on the tv or radio with the light on. (So the flashes aren't so noticeable.)
I have had the same problem as you with my two rabbits . My rabbits love eachothers company so on firework night i use this technique every year and they are okay.

i get a medium sized cardboard box and i line it with a bin bag. then i get some newspaper and rip it up to put ontop of the bin bag. next place a fair amount of hay and straw in the box to make it soft and familiar to your rabbit. then put in an old towel to make it warm and soft and cosy for her. If you close the lid so that it is dark, she will naturally become less distressed (but make sure she can still breathe!) put in a small bowl of food and clean water for her so she doesnt get hungry. if you have more than one rabbit put them in together because they will be less frightened if they are not alone. only put her in when it is nessassary because it is a small place for a rabbit to stay in for long periods of time. Check on her regularly - like every few hours. but dont worry if your not home - im sure she will be fine. keep her indoors for that night and then afterwards she can go back to normal. - oh and just a tip, if you keep the box on a carpeted floor, then it is useful to put a bin bag on the floor under the box!
