I would love to get a micro pig. I have dogs now and I absolutely love them. I have always wanted a micro pig though and I was just wondering if anyone who has one could give me some advice on them. For example their dietary requirements , what they're like around humans, how attached they get, etc.
This is really vague but any information would be useful!:)
The majority of piglets sold as "micro" are bred from runts, are runts, or are malnourished, don't encourage this fad trade!
It's most often Pot Belly Pigs that get sold as "micros", they can still get the size of medium-sized dog and 120-150lbs. There are other small breed pigs, like the colourful Kune Kune, which get more like 150 - 200lbs. Sure the piglets are cute, but they grow into very large beasties that don't do anything they don't want to! Think of them as extremely heavy, stubborn dogs in that respect.
On the subject of dogs, pigs and dogs don't usually get along. I don't recommend the two together. The dogs bark at the pigs, the pigs get terrified. A big Pot Belly boar could do some damage to a smaller dog .
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com If you want a pig, do a lot of research. They are very intelligent and can be very rewarding, but only in the right care! And remember they are classed as livestock too, so are restricted by city zoning and Department of Agriculture restrictions.
There is no such thing. Even the smallest breed of pigs will grow to be around 150 pounds.
