I just got a 4 month old baby rabbit, she is a holland lop and rex cross. We're getting along good so far but I have a hard time getting her in and out of the cage for exercise. I have her cage up on a small desk and was wondering if it's better if I put the cage down so she can hop out onto the floor on her own?
No, they don't. They do prefer to be close to the ground, and if you let them out, they like to have their own access in and out of the cage. My rabbit will jump out of her cage from a higher platform, but she's very hesitant. It's also not very safe, considering how very fragile their back is.
Rabbits just don't like being picked up. My rabbit is a Californian (so quite big) and she's learned that I have to pick her up so she can go play. She still doesn't like it but at least shes not scared.
Rabbits are generally afraid of heights .. so on the ground would be a better idea. Holland lop/rex cross aye? That's got to be one adorable bunny.:)
It would be best placed on the floor, also probably safer.
Rabbits don't like being picked up high, you should put her on the ground so she feels safer.
Yes.
