My Chilean rose has been molting for 4 days! She is 12 yrs old. How long does it take to molt? HELP! I am a first time tarantula owner. Any advise would be great! Thank you!
Is she still making any progress. It's not unusual for an adult tarantula to take a good 24 hours to fully molt - it's a long, hard process for them. But 4 days is very unusual. Can you email me some pics of her by chance? Sorry to say that she may have started to molt and then gotten stuck. The new exo will have started to harden by now and she won't be able to get herself out of old now if that's already happened. Some pics would really help. There is a way you can help a struggling tarantula out of a stuck molt, but it's not an easy process and you want to be absolutely certain she needs your help before you give it. It does sound like she might. Feel free to email me if you want or need more advice. Good luck to you and her!
Usually it only takes 15 minutes - a few hours. Then their skin is very gooey. I would call a vet.
