Why do dogs chase cats?

I find it quite an interesting topic, because I've never asked any Jews (because their smarts) or anyone in that case that is intelligent. Best Answer will be rewarded
Dogs see cats as prey, especially as cats are smaller.

Some dogs may chase cats as herding instinct, others may chase but not kill, but many chase and kill because the cat is their 'prey'. Its not that cats and dogs are enemies - its just that where the dog threatens the cat, the cat lashes out.

Some dogs don't chase cats, though. These dogs are usually ones which have been brought up safely around cats and other small creatures.

a springer spaniel we had when he was young had no problem with cats, until one turned on him and hissed. [I genuinely think he thought they were other dogs]. I guess he took it personally, because he then started barking and chasing after everyone he saw. at least my garden was a 'cat free' zone for 13 years.
Lol because it's funny! you ever notice dogs have a big grin on their face when they run? haha. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

cats are sassy and think they are royalty. That's why dogs have to put them in their place and remind them that they are man's best friend.
