How do i know if my rabbit is hurt? (Someone please help: '(

My rabbit escaped it little paddock .. and then about 5minutes later my dog is chasing it up the driveway, the rex (my rabitt) runs into the fence of the paddock mutiple times to get away from the dog: (.. hes just sitting down now and wont jump around like he normally does? ... is he hurt? how do i know??: '(.. some1 please help
pick up the rabbit & put it back in its cage & keep it covered and dark

the rabbit is in shock right now thats why it is not moving,

you need to leave it be for a while, dont disturb it, once the rabbit has settled down & is no

longer in shock then pick up the rabbit & check its hole body, legs, neck, ears, tail, belly everything

look for signs of blood or open skin, move the legs to see if any breaks if not

than just put the rabbit back in its cage and leave him be with fresh food and water.

just remember hes in shock & shock can kill rabbits, thats why you need to leave him be in the dark dont disturb him, let him get back to his normal self again then check him over.

Hopefully hes okay, if you do see any injuries take him to the vet
If he is not jumping around, he is probably just extremely exhausted and shocked from being chased around by a dog. Rabbits can run fast but their stamina is short so they can only have fast bursts of speed over a short distance. If i were you, i would most likely go out into the paddock and get your dog away from the rabbit and then try get your rabbit back to where you keep it and check his body for any injuries etc. And keep a watch on it for a little while because sometimes rabbits can get too scared that it can lead to a heart attack and would most likely cause death.
hes most likely fine. hes probably in extreme shock, which i find is really common with rabbits. they are just so sensitive and skiddish. give him some time and space, turn the lights off or cover his cage very gently. in about 15 or 20 minutes check on him to make a definite decision. i dont reccommend trying to reach in the cage or pick him up unless you DO see something obviously wrong. if he still seems find give him more time, and then later gently pick him up and examine him. things like joints, bones , and gentlly check all fur for cuts or things like that.
Its possible that he is hurt, but if he is acting unusually quiet after this kind of incident my fear would be that he is going into shock.

There are things that you can do to stop this from happening.

First, I would put him somewhere safe-either in his home, or in a box inside the house with plenty of bedding to hide in.

Make sure he has access to food and water, and if you have any electrolytes add them to the water to make sure he stays hydrated.

Then call up your vet and talk to somebody there about what you can do. I dont know if taking him to the vets at the moment would be the best thing, as it will most likely add to the stress-but they may be able to make some suggestions. If his condition deteriorates you should definately take him in.

Usually, peace and quiet, and adequate hydration are enough to help animals pull through this kind of stress-but you do need to be prepared-and the best way of being prepared is talking through everything with your vet.
