Tips for trotting on a western saddle?
sittign the trot and posting the trot. how do stay balanced and not fall off!!
keep your heels down.
do you take lessons? have you ever ridden english? if you have, it may be the stirrup length. it is kind of hard to keep your legs still in a western saddle also it is hard to get your butt off the saddle with long stirrups. i suggest you take a lesson somewhere so that someone can really work with you on your position if you aren't already. i can't see a video of you so i can't help you there but an instructor can and will.

have fun!
Relax and don't let your hips get stiff. If your hips are stiff, you will bounce. Take a deep breath and think heavy. Let your hips rock side to side with the horse's movement. Also, sit back on your but, on the pockets of your jeans.

It a matter of being centered and balanced. Try to ride without stirrups and work on your balance and thigh muscles and it will help you to feel the horse and its movement better as well. There are alot of good videos out there to watch if you are unable to take riding lessons.

Good Luck :)
heals down, hands low, you can sit or post, posting will help you become balanced, let yourself move with the horse, practice makes perfect. :)
If you have ridden english posting trot should be 10x easier in a western saddle because you have more support. If you are having trouble you need to build up your muscle. Ride with out stirrups and do the posting trot, and 2 point. After you do that for a week or so you should have no problem.

Also, think heavy heavy heavy will help. Sink into your heels, but sit tall.

Another thing that could be the problem, is posting too high. You shouldn't be pushing yourself out of the saddle. The horse should be, and if they aren't push them forward.

Sitting on the pockets of your jeans will also help. Keep your hands low, and sway with the horses movement. Don't "over sway" just enough so that your are keeping with the beat of the horses trot.
