Stadium Jumping Bridles?
Ok I use collegiate tack and I do cross in a figure eight but I use this bridle for jumping http://www.statelinetack.com/item/collegiate-raised-padded-fancy-stitched-bridle/SLT901015/ I show at novice but my trainer says i'm at training level but do you think this bridle has enough presence for stadium or should I go with a figure 8
It does not matter one bit which bridle you use in stadium. You are not judged on what you or your horse is wearing, you are only judged on if you make it over all the jumps in the time allowed. It would be silly to get a whole new bridle when you've already got a perfectly good one. However, if you've got money you don't know what to do with and a real desire for a new bridle, then go for it.
In all honesty, the judges will be looking at you and your horse more than your tack. Of course, they'll still look at your tack, but it's unlikely they'd take points off for it. And when they look at it, they won't know the exact brand or anything. So if you want to spend $160 on a bridle, it looks nice so I'd say go for it, but at the same time, a figure 8 bridle would have just as much "presence", so why waste your money?
