I have a 46in girth that is wayy to big for my horse?

What size should I get? Should I just go the next size down? Or 2 sizes down? The girth is 3 holes down from the top.
If it is an older girth, take into consideration that it has probably stretched (especially if it has elastic ends!). If you are buying locally, I'd take the 46 "girth with me and compare it to a new 46" girth. If yours has stretched, I'd probably only go down 2 ". If ordering on line it is a gamble. If the the 46 "is usable, then I'd probably just go down one size, but take into consideration the pads you use and even if your horse has a heavy winter coat on.
If it is 3 holes down from the top on both sides, it sounds like it fits him just fine.

Since girths are measured in inches, if you want to go one hole down, that would be about an inch per side, so 44 ". Two holes=42".
I would try one size down, you can always bring the girth to the top, but you can't do anything if it is to short.
No clue since I don't know the horse. Use a tape measure to measure from the billets around your horse's belly is all I can say . My 16hh horse wears a 48 in girth and it gives plenty of room to adjust.
I would suggest buying one smaller if it is way too big for your horse. Maybe you should measure your horse and buy a girth off of those measurements.: D
I would take mesurements.
Get a 42 inch.
Umm .. we cant tell you if we dont know how much bigger it is .. or what ur horses measurements are ..
