What would you think of a American Quarter Horse with Moon Deck, Top Deck, Joe Hancock, Leo, Doc Bar, Lightning Bar, The Investor, Three Bars, and Zippo Pat Bars (just named a few hall of fame horses) in its pedigree ?
those horses are probably so far back they don't matter.
I'd have to see the individual horse-their conformation, temperment, and how well they are trained.
I could care less about what the horse's pedigree is. Sometimes a horse has a great pedigree, but then you look at them and the horse is just crap because its like they are a mash of things that don't fit. For me, the conformation and temperament and far more important than the breeding is. Breeding really only affects the price tag.
That being said, there are a few studs or even mares where I would be interested in their offspring a generation or two after because they have really strong traits that they pass on, but there aren't very many out there.
All of those are too far back to count. Most of them aren't even on the papers. It certainly wouldn't add any value to the horse.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com I would care more about what the immediate sire, grandsire, dam and grandam have done more than what horses 4 + generations back have done. Realize that there are a LOT of horses that trace back to every name you mentioned. Almost every QH in existence traces to King.
So I would think of your horse as average bred. Nothing special on his papers.
I have been doing a lot of research and i would be checking any pedigree for impressive - king poco bueno zippo pine bar and quite a few others for hypp and or herda two genetic diseases these horse carry there are tests for these things but unfortunatly some breeders dont test or if they do dont tell so if you own one or are thinking of buying a horse do some research on allbreed pedigree online or have dna test done yourself they are pretty cheap and i would sooner be 25 bucks out of pocket than quite a few thousand its easy to do pull at least 25 hairs per test from main or tail make sure you get the root of hairs put them in a plastic bag name of horse and send it to the lab takes about 10 days if an owner selling a horse is genuine they will hold the horse till test comes back i know i would
Those are some VERY old horses, so they are probably quite far back in the pedigree.

I want to know who the sire is, and who the grand sires are. And the dam and grand dams. THOSE are the ones that really matter to me because they are the ones with the real influence on the horse.
The Investor and Zippo Pat Bars would probably interest WP people, but the other names are too far back to be very relevant. It will/would depend on the individual horse.
that's a awesome pedigree but i also like doc 'olenas there really niceley tempered
do pedigree's even matter? Isnt every horse different?
